The New Kukës Bridge, inaugurated on November 4, 2024, is a significant infrastructure project spanning the Drin River in Kukës, Albania. Designed by renowned Italian architect Giorgio Rizzo, the bridge replaces an older structure and enhances connectivity between Albania and Kosovo. It features a 310-meter length with a metal arch spanning 270 meters and a height of 56 meters, supported by concrete foundations on each bank and no intermediate supports. The bridge includes four lanes with intermediate traffic dividers and steel cables fixed from the foundation to the arch.

This bridge is crucial for tourism as it streamlines travel between Albania and Kosovo, reducing travel time and improving safety. By easing traffic congestion, especially during winter months when the old route was prone to accidents, it encourages more visitors to explore both regions. The bridge’s unique architectural design also adds aesthetic value, potentially attracting tourists interested in modern engineering and design. Additionally, the improved infrastructure supports local businesses by facilitating the movement of goods and services, thereby boosting the regional economy and enhancing the overall tourism experience
